5 TRENDS THAT’LL BE EVERYWHERE IN 2017
From cold shoulders to colour blocking, here's how to nail the hottest spring/summer 2017 fashion trends...
1. IT’S COOL TO COLOUR BLOCK
Graphic clashing colours are big news for spring, but forget trying to work out the perfect palette – we’ve done the hard work for you. Panels of white, pink and red (whoever said they don’t go together was so wrong) transform our flattering LBD to create an effortless way to work the trend. Wear it to work or on weekends, with our silver ankle boots (coming soon) to make a statement, or simple black shoes to let the dress stand out.
2. A LEOPARD CAN CHANGE ITS SPOTS
Obsessed with leopard? Us too, but this season, it’s all about switching up the regular stuff for bold, brightly coloured animal print. Pink and purple is spring’s hottest combo, and our shirtdress is splashed with a ditsy, abstract animal print, while our silky shirt features a super-sized leopard spot in catwalk-approved bright blue. Guaranteed to get all the compliments, you’ll wear them both round-the-clock. Pat Butcher would be green (or should that be purple and blue?) with envy.
3. SLEEVES THAT MAKE A STATEMENT
No longer merely a functional finish to everyday garments, sleeves have stepped into the spotlight to become a design detail in their own right. On-trend fluted sleeves elevate our wear-with-anything black jersey top from simple to statement. Style it with everything from jeans and trainers to leather skirts, or try slipping it under a sleeveless dress to create a completely new look. A key wardrobe update for under £30 – what’s not to love?
4. GRAPHIC PRINTS ARE GO
Amongst the staple spring florals and stripes, there’s a new print to know this season – graphic. The monochrome pattern on our silky shirt taps subtly into spring’s other big trend, the ‘80s revival. Yes, it’s back people. Sleek enough for the office thanks to the black and white palette, it’ll also look great dressed up for evening with our culottes and strappy heels. Black is the perfect partner for this statement-maker, but if you’re feeling brave, clash it with a pop of block colour like our plum cropped trousers.
5. COLD SHOULDERS GET HOTTER
Fashion's obsession with the shoulders is still going strong. We’re big fans of a cold-shoulder top – the statement shape is a seriously easy way to work a directional look. While it’s still cold, our cut-out-but-cosy soft stretch knit will see you through to spring. Wear with jeans and knee-boots in your downtime, or dress it up by tucking into a polished skirt.
